CRK TRAINING STABLE.....Printable PDF Version
Riding Lesson Policy Due to the high volume of clients and lessons, CRK Training Stable has adopted the following policies for riding lessons. We regret that we can= t be more flexible, but please understand that while you have one or two students, we have 40 or more clients and up to 25 horses to care for. Thank you for your understanding. Riding Lesson Policy All lesson clients will be assigned a lesson day(s) and time(s) each week. A minimum commitment of one lesson per week is required. All lessons will be at least one hour. A liability release must be completed and signed before the start of your first lesson. Private lessons on CRK Training Stable horses will start at the assigned time, with tack up and grooming time included in your lesson. Group lesson students riding CRK Training Stable horses should plan to allow 15 minutes before and after their lesson to groom, tack-up, cool down and un-tack their horse. This time is not attended by an instructor. Students must be able to groom, tack-up, and ride at a walk, trot, and canter in order to ride in group lessons. Riding Attire Proper attire is required for safety and to allow the instructor to evaluate the rider for proper body & riding position. Proper attire is considered to be: Close-fitting long pants- (preferably regular waist jeans, breeches or jodhpurs), riding boots with at least a 3/4 inch heel separate from the sole, close fitting shirt, and ASTM/SEI approved Riding Helmet. No tennis shoes, hiking boots, sandals, shorts, capri pants, bike helmets, baggy shirts or pants allowed. Helmets and boots are available to borrow. Students without proper attire may be denied a lesson without a refund or make-up lesson. Payments 1. Lessons are billed by the month, not by the lesson. All payments must be received by the last day of the month prior to the month you are paying for. Example; All lessons fees for July must be paid by June 30. If full payment is not received by the last day of the month, the student will be dropped from the schedule and may be subject to a waiting list when they return. Payments received after the last day of the month will be subject to a 10% late fee, $5.00 minimum. 2. See current rate sheet for payment amounts. Statements will be mailed early enough in advance to allow time for accurate payments. Non-receipt of statement is not an excuse for late payment. If you don= t receive your statement, please call to inquire about your balance due. 3. All payments should be mailed or placed in the mailbox on the back of the office, near the tackroom. Do not give payments to the instructor. Pens and envelopes are in the tack room. 4. Check payments: Make all checks payable to CRK Training Stable and place the students name on the memo line, especially if the students name is different than the name on the check. Checks may be placed in the mailbox without an envelope. 5. Cash payments: Cash payments must be placed in an envelope with the rider= s name clearly written on the outside. Place cash payments in the mailbox on the office. Please do not mail cash. 6. Credit card payments: CRK Training Stable does not accept credit cards at this time. 7. Horse Show rail fees, trailering, and other charges will be billed monthly after the show. 8. No refunds, credits or discounts for missed or cancelled lesson! 9. It is the policy of CRK Training Stable to bill for all past due payments. Accounts not paid within 60 days will be turned over to a collection agency and/or litigated. Returned Checks Upon receipt of a check returned unpaid from the bank, CRK Stable will notify the appropriate party. No further action will be taken until we are contacted by the party. Returned checks will not be redeposited. All lessons will be discontinued until the returned check is replaced with cash plus a $25.00 returned check charge and any late fees that may apply. Lesson missed due to returned checks will not be made up. Upon receipt of a check returned unpaid from the bank for the second time within a six-month period, that account will be cash or cashiers check only. Unpaid checks will be turned over to the Orange County District Attorney. Cancellation & Vacation Policy No Refunds, credits or discounts will be given for cancelled lessons. 1. If you are unable to attend a scheduled lesson, it may be rescheduled. The replacement lesson must be scheduled within the same month as the cancelled lesson or the lesson will be forfeited without a refund. Credit will only be given in the event that inclement weather prevents rescheduling lessons in a timely manner. We will make every attempt to reschedule lessons, but do not guarantee that everyone= s schedule can be accommodated. 2. In the event that a rider is unable to attend a scheduled lesson, notice must be given at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the start time of the lesson in order to reschedule that lesson. Lesson cancellation forms are available in the tack room. Please fill out the required information and place in the payment mailbox. Verbal messages left on the answering machine or with an instructor will not be considered proper notice. Make every effort to leave written notice in the mailbox. You must also contact us to schedule your make-up lesson. 3. No show lessons will be charged as if the lesson was given. A No Show is considered to be: A rider who does not attend a scheduled lesson within 20 minutes of the start time, without proper cancellation notice being given. Riders who are more than 20 minutes late, without notice, will be denied a lesson and will not be given a make-up lesson. 4. Students may request up to 4 weeks of vacation annually. Vacation months will be discounted by the number of lesson requested, up to 4 per year. Lesson spaces will be held for students during vacation breaks if it is scheduled prior to the first day of the month. Vacation discounts will not be granted over the phone. All requests must be made in writing and approved by CRK Staff. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY Do not assume lessons will be cancelled without calling. You will be charged for A No shows@ No Refunds! Credit for future lessons will be given in the event of weather cancellations. If you cancel a lesson due to the possibility of bad weather, you will be charged for the lesson. CRK Training Stable will not call if lessons are cancelled due to bad weather. You must call and check the answering machine for a lesson cancellation message. If no cancellation message is on the machine, lessons will run as scheduled. Messages will not be available until after 8:00 A.M., so please plan to call after that time. Rain- If it has been raining recently, please call for a message regarding lessons. If it looks like rain, but has not rained yet, plan to attend your lesson. Wind- During A Santa Ana@ wind conditions, lessons will be cancelled. Please call for a message regarding lessons. Keep in mind that wind conditions change rapidly, so call often.
